The Houndstooth of Baskerville - a Cosplay

I am captivated by the recent BBC show Sherlock Holmes. What else can a fan girl like me to do other than ... create a costume! This project pays homage to my tailoring roots. My goal is to create a male version and a female version. 

 For those who are not familiar, here is a link from Wikipedia. 

This coat is a UK labeled Belstaff coat called Millford Coat. It is now, of course, discontinued. 

I am still undecided about if I should use tweed or houndstooth pattern fabric. Houndstooth does fit into the theme better. The actual coat is tweed.
